Millie Thomas Harris

Millie Thomas Harris, 85, died April 19, 2015.
A native and longtime resident of Oconee County, she was born on August 29, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Weyman A. Thomas and Frances Huff Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Otho M. (Mack) Branch, Jr. and Ed C. Harris, and brother, Parks Thomas.
Mrs. Harris retired from the Oconee County School System in 1994, having previously worked at the McGregor Co. and Westinghouse in Athens. She was a longtime member of Watkinsville First Christian Church where she was active in the Disciples Women's Fellowship. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother-always supporting and attending the activities of her family.
Survivors include her son, Thomas M. Branch (Diane); daughters, Teresa Harris Guthrie (Joe) and Tracy Harris Henson (Russ), all of Watkinsville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Branch Tyre (John), John Branch, James Henson, Thomas Henson, Melisa Guthrie McCue (Matt), Brittany Guthrie Allgood (Tim) and Bailey Guthrie and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST with Rev. Sheila Hunter officiating. Interment will be in Watkinsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 21 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Watkinsville First Christian Church.
