Mildred Cochran Watkins

Mildred Cochran Watkins, 81, of Nicholson GA, died November 26, 2022. A native of Clarke Co., GA, she lived most of her adult life in Clarke and Madison Counties, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Watkins, parents Buford and Annie Ruth Cochran, and sister Violetta Slay.

She is survived by her son Terry (Kim) McCannon, grandchildren Geoffery McCannon and Matthew (Tosha) McCannon, great grandson Dawson McCannon, brothers Julian, Melvin, and Garey (Dorothy) Cochran and sister Gail Fusi, in addition to several nieces and nephews.

She was known to be a feisty woman with a strong willed spirit. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. It was always a good day if she got to watch her Georgia Bulldogs play. Some of her favorite hobbies included cooking and quilting.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 1PM at Buena Vista Cemetery on Nowhere Road, Athens, GA with Rev. Andy Epps officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 12PM until 1PM.
