Mildred Grace Bell

Mildred Grace Bell, 94, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. A native of Watkinsville, Mildred was born on December 20, 1923 and was the daughter of Omer and Jewel Bell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Tom Bishop, and niece, Deborah Bishop. Mildred is survived by her nephews and their wives, Bill and Sherry Bishop, and Jeff and Grace Bishop, and her great nieces, Kelly Bishop, Claire Bishop, and Emily Bishop. Mildred was a charter member of the Oconee County Pilot Club (member emeritus now) and retired from the USDA Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service after working 31 years in the Oconee County office where she received numerous certificates of merit for her outstanding performance. She was a graduate of Watkinsville High School and the Business College of Athens. Mildred was a lifelong member of Union Christian Church. She loved life and had many, many friends. Visitation is 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Lord & Stevens West Funeral Home, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Watkinsville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Union Christian Church, 1130 Union Church Road, Watkinsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Christian Church cemetery fund. Lord & Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
