Athens, GA - Douglas William T. "Mickey" Kittle, 76, passed away August 16, 2008.
A native of Clarke County, GA, he was a son of the late Mary Lou Strickland and Roger Kittle, Sr. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Kittle and Frances Fair, and five brothers, Roger Kittle, Jr., Clinton Kittle, Howell Kittle, Randolph Kittle and Wilbur Kittle.
Mr. Kittle was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for ten years with the Athens City Police Department and has owned and operated Kittle's A-1 Auto and Truck since 1956.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the home of Mike Kittle, 190 Sandstone Dr, Athens, GA after the graveside service.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Rogers Kittle; four sons and daughters-in-law, William M. and Elizabeth W. Kittle of Athens, Steven M. and Mary W. Kittle of Watkinsville, Brett and Bonnie H. Kittle of Hull, Tracy G. and Tammy C. Kittle of Watkinsville; three sisters, Rachel Coile of Crawford, Martha Ann Michael of Bishop, Patsy Wright of Cartersville; one brother, Jerry Kittle of Bogart; eight grandchildren, Mandi Kittle of Colorado Springs, CO, Brandi Kittle of Watkinsville, Mick Kittle of Wilmington, NC, Matt Kittle of Statesboro, Emily Kittle of Athens, Kevin Kittle, Ashley Dibling, both of Watkinsville, Bri Kittle of Hull; three great grandchildren, Britnee, Brandon, and Brooke, all of Colorado Springs, CO; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice House or American Cancer Society.
