Michael Morgan

November 1, 1956 — February 22, 2013

After a long fought battle with cancer, Michael Lawson Morgan passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Bethlehem First United Methodist Church Bethlehem, Ga., immediately followed by a reception and celebration of his life at The Georgia Club, Statham, Ga.
Mr. Morgan, son of Mr. Lehman Harvey (Luke) Morgan and the late Jean Evans Morgan of Douglas, Georgia, was born in Eastman, Georgia, but lived his adult life in Lawrenceville and Statham.
Survivors include his wife Vicki Williams Morgan, daughter Melia Morgan Harrington and son-in-law Wilton Daniel Harrington ,III of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Two beloved pets, dachshunds Bo and Phoebe. Brothers John Lehman Morgan and wife Jan Taylor Morgan of Ocilla, and Luke Evans Morgan of Douglas. Sister-in-law Cindy Williams Greene and Tommy Greene of Eastman, Gina Williams Roberts and Lonnie Roberts of Hazelhurst. Nieces and nephews include: Erin Morgan and Lane Morgan of Douglas, Lindsey Morgan and Hayley Morgan of Ocilla, Abbie Halbig of Tifton, Tom Greene of Eastman, and Georgia Roberts of Hazelhurst. Great nephew John Lawton Morgan, Ocilla, and great niece Hadley Halbig of Tifton.
Mike graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S.A. in Agronomy and was a devoted UGA athletics supporter. He worked for the Georgia State Department of Agriculture for nearly 30 years. He was an avid fan of the Allman Brothers Band, loved to play golf, and attended UGA football games every Saturday in the fall.
