Michael Moreira, 71, of Statham, died on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Michael was the son of Joseph Moreira and Evelyn Fata. He graduated from BMC Durfee High School, class of 1971, and moved to Georgia in 1976. He attended the University of Georgia and made his home in Oconee County. He worked for many years as a plant supervisor for various poultry operations. Mike enjoyed golf, UGA football, dancing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike is survived by his wife, Deborah Moreira; his children: Brooke (Randall) Dodd and Adam (Melissa) Moreira; four grandchildren: William Bennett, Sarah Michael Bennett, Jordan Moreira, and Landon Moreira; an aunt, two uncles, and several cousins.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19 at Lord and Stephens, West Chapel from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.

Mike’s urn will be interred at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or at parkinson.org.
