Athens - Michael McDowell, 56, died February 16, 2006.
A former resident of Madison, GA, he was a son of the late Marie Close and Robert F. McDowell, Sr. and the stepson of Martha McDowell of Decatur, GA. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church and a member of the brotherhood of St. Andrew. Mr. McDowell was employed at Kroger on Broad St., Athens for over ten years.
Survivors in addition to his stepmother include his brother, Robert F. McDowell, Jr. of Athens; sister, Marie Louise Sadler of Doraville; stepbrother Jim Nix of Washington, DC; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church, Athens. A reception will be held at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church, 3195 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
