Michael Kiernan Reed

Michael Kiernan Reed, 34, of Athens, Ga. passed away on February 12, 2011. Born to Richard and Maureen Reed in August 1976 in Heyward, California, Michael was a graduate of Cherokee High School in Canton, Ga. Mr. Reed studied at Kennesaw State, UGA and, in recent days, Athens Tech, where he made the President's List for his academic achievements in Biotechnology. A rugby man in a football town, he defied convention. From his birth to his passing, he pushed life to the limits, and colored outside the lines, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those he met. A beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Michael is survived by his wife of over 5 years, Krista; his children, Moriya and Kiernan; his parents, Maureen and Richard; sister, Casey, and her family, Dustin and Christian. A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Lord & Stephens East in Athens, Ga from 4-6 p.m. The family will receive Michael's friends and loved ones for a celebration of his life immediately following the viewing. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the National Kidney Foundation Serving Georgia & Alabama
