Winterville - Mike Bahnsen, 56, husband of Shiela Cyphers Bahnsen, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cornelia, GA, he was the son of Roberta Sue Gunnells Bahnsen and the late Elton Boyd Bahnsen, Sr. He worked for Silgan Closures as a Maintenance Mechanic.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include his children: Michael Eugene Bahnsen, Jr. of Augusta; daughter: Lee Ann Stewart of Indianapolis, IN; brothers; Elton Boyd Bahnsen, Jr. of Clemson, SC, Lynn Wayne Bahnsen of Athens; sister: Marie Abercrombie of Athens; grandchildren: Brianna Bahnsen, Destiny Stewart and Jacob Stewart as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Ray Wuerzer officiating. Burial will follow at Hull Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Jones, David Jones, Ben Bahnsen, Keith Titshaw, Elton Bahnsen, Jr., Lynn Bahnsen and Bruce Arnold.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sheila Bahnsen for Brianna and Destiny.
The family will receive friends tonight, June 13, 2010 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Lord & Stephens East is in charge of arrangements.
