Michael D. Alexander

Michael D. Alexander, 69, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Born in South Dakota and raised in Elberton, GA, he was the son of the late Xon "Skip" L. Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Orr Alexander. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolly Melvin Garrett Alexander. He was a longtime resident of Conyers prior to moving to Watkinsville in 2004. Mr. Alexander retired from Central Fire Protection and was an avid outdoorsman. Survivors include his daughters: Mary Ann Roberts (spouse Chanse) of Conyers, GA, Jennifer Collins (spouse Peyton) of Metter, GA, Kristie Yandell (spouse Jeremy) of Waldron, AR, Mickie Sykes (spouse Matt)of Portal, GA, and their mother, Cynthia Ann Beasley Alexander, Tina Wright (spouse Carl) of Whitehouse, TN, Lisa Whetzel(spouse David) of Elleslie, MD, thirteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday, December 4, 2015, at Lord & Stephens West Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
