Melvin E. McIntire
April 7, 1920 — March 27, 2014
Melvin E. McIntire, 93, passed away March 27, 2014. He was the son of the late William A. and Olive E. McIntire and was preceded by his wife, Addie Mae McIntire and sisters, Mary Katherine West and Beverly Ann Mays.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. McIntire served with the 281st Engineer Combat Battalion and was a longtime truck driver.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 3:00pm at Lord & Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. David Burt officiating.The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until service time. Burial will follow in Bridges Family Cemetery.
Survivors include his sister, Esther Lucille Staten and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sandy Cross Community VFD, c/o Judith D. Paul, 760 Lexington Carlton Rd., Lexington, GA 30648.
