Athens - Meghan Brynna Blackwood, 27, died March 16, 2011.
A native of Talledega, Ala., she was a daughter of Barbara Blackwood of Robertsdale, Ala., and the late Freddie Mason Blackwood. She attended Culver Girls Academy, Culver, Ind. and was currently attending Piedmont College in Athens. Ms. Blackwood was currently employed with Laser Appraiser in Athens.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lord & Stephens, WEST.
Survivors in addition to her mother include a daughter, Alexis Mason Jane Cottle; brother, Todd Kleinman of Spokane, Washington; grandmother, Doris Blackwood of Anderson, S.C.; aunts and uncles, Jan and Mike Wilson of Athens, David Lee, Stephen Lee, Jane DeBates; niece and nephews, Ryan, Quinlan, and Abby; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for her daughter, Alexis will be established at Athens First Bank and Trust.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
