Maybelle Kauffman

Maybelle Lorraine Kauffman, 84 of Watkinsville, Ga, formerly of Elkhart, IN passed away in the comfort of her home in Watkinsville, Ga, surrounded by her family on January 15, 2019.

Maybelle was born September 20, 1934 in South Bend, IN to John and Flossie Dimos, who preceded her in death.

Maybelle was a devoted wife and mother and had been active in the Jimtown community and the Central Christian Church while living in Elkhart. She was an avid golfer, lover of scrabble and never knew a stranger.

Her husband of 67 years, Richard Kauffman, survives along with her four daughters, Debra Clark (Bethlehem, GA), Kathy (Richard) Alexander (Elkhart, IN), Vicki Kallimani (Watkinsville, GA), and Teresa Forrest (Columbia, SC), also surviving are  two brothers  Charles (Jan) Dimos (Elkhart, IN) and Roland (Kay) Dimos (Springfield, MO) and two sisters Frances (Lynn) Gill (Texas) and Phyllis Wienhoft (Elkhart, IN). She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She came from a family of 16 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings and one grandson, Nicholas Kallimani.

As per her wishes cremation will take place and there will be no service.  Charitable donations may be made on her behalf to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
