Mrs. Lowe was born November 8, 1920 in Covington, Ga. She was the daughter of Fred Hewell, Sr. and Mary Willie Veale Hewell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Clinton Hewell of Watkinsville (Marjorie), and her loving husband of 49 years, James Vestal Lowe.
With her Father passing away when she was two, she and her Mom and brother moved to Arnoldsville where her Mother was Seamstress. She graduated from Winterville High School in 1939. Neighborhood gatherings were often held at her home and was where she met the love of her life and was married.
Ms. Lowe was a homemaker and was a caretaker for her Mother. She worked beside her Husband as they farmed and raised chickens when he returned from World War II. In later years they started family business, Lowe Brothers Feed Mill, Lowe Brothers Hatchery and Lowe Brothers Cleaners in Crawford. She continued to work outside her home until she was 83.
She was a member at Temple Methodist Church, where she had attended since birth. She resided at Rainbow Assisted Living in Arnoldsville 2012- 2014 and then moved to Quiet Oaks Nursing Home until her death. Her greatest enjoyments were attending Church functions with longtime friends, traveling, attending the Senior Citizens group and visiting with family and friends. She was known for her love of shopping trips with friends and she loved making crafts and gifts for others. She was also a talented seamstress, like her Mother.
