Crawford, GA - Mattie Doster Lester, 77, died July 29, 2009.
A resident of Oglethorpe County, she was a daughter of the late Bessie Mae McElroy and William Thomas Doster. She was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church of Arnoldsville, and dedicated her life and all of her love to her family and her church. Mattie touched the heart of everyone in her life and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST with Revs. Tim McDonald, Jamie Doster and Thomas Doster officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Following the service, a reception will be held at Living Waters Baptist Church, 734 Yancey Road, Arnoldsville, GA 30619.
Survivors include her husband, Reece Lester, Jr.; three children, Michelle Lester of Winterville; Stan Lester of Carnesville and Don Lester of Crawford; sister, Willie (Lon) Crawford; brothers, Rev. Jamie (Loula Mae) Doster of Carlton, Rev. Thomas (Jean) Doster of Clermont and Andy (Deorita) Doster of Morganton; five grandchildren, Joshua (Torie) Lester, Ashley Meadow, Jonathon Lester, Brandon Lester, and Eddie Lester; two great grandchildren, Blake Lester and Taylor Lester; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Len Hardy, Mike Lester, Andrew Kesler, Sherry Lester, Joshua Lester and Bill Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Lester and Brandon Lester.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
