Mattie Patterson Compton

Mattie Patterson Compton, 96, of Hull, died Saturday, November 28, 2015.
Born in Colbert, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Grace Kirk Patterson. Mrs. Compton retired from the Colbert Sewing Plant after many years. After her retirement, she became a caregiver. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Compton; two brothers, Coile and Joe Patterson; and three sisters, Jeanette Wood, Mary Nunnally, and Florence Ashley.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Darvin Cash officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 9585 Highway 172, Comer, GA 30629.
