Athens - Mary E. Whitehurst, age 83, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 08, 2006.
A native of Macon, Georgia, she had resided in Athens for over ten years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary E. Smith of Macon and David L. Smith of Orlando, FL; her husband, Douglas P. Whitehurst of Macon; a son, Walter L. Whitehurst of Macon; a brother and a sister.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne Clements of Athens; three grandchildren, Rick Clements of Suwanee, Georgia, Douglas Clements of Athens and Jennifer Wood of Winterville; sister, Carolyn Young of Devon, PA and five great grandchildren.
Lord & Stephens, East is in charge of arrangements. Graveside services will be held in Macon, GA on Friday, November 10, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Vistacare Hospice, 150 Ben Burton Road, Bogart GA 30622.
