Lexington - Mary Howard Sisk, 73, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2010 at 2PM at Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Tye Sorrow officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Stephens, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Mell and Lucy Moore Howard. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church. Mrs. Sisk retired from the Oglethorpe County School System and was an active member of the Georgia Retired Educators Association.
Survivors include her son John Sisk and his wife Stacey of Gainesville, daughter, Susan Watkins and husband Mike of Lexington, son, Gary Sisk of Crawford; sisters: Carolyn H. Paradise of Stephens, Elizabeth H. Tonn and her husband Roland of Oconomowoc, WI, Edna H. Moore of Camilla, GA; grandchildren: Brandon Watkins and his wife Tammy, Eric Sisk, Brent Watkins, Katie Sisk; great grandchildren: Kelsie Watkins, Kaitlyn Watkins, Karli Watkins, Braelyn Tucker; sisters in law: Marie Sisk, Ruth Leadley and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605-3007 or the Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation, 3282 Northside Parkway NW, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30327.
Lord & Stephens, Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
