Athens, GA - Mary Thurmond Schultz, 80, passed away August 27, 2008.
A native and lifelong resident of Athens, GA, she retired from Clarke County Department of Family and Children's Services after twenty years. Following retirement, Mrs. Schultz was a caregiver for Alzheimer's patients in this area for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harris Thurmond and Eloise Johnson Maxwell and sister, Ann Elder.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Alisa Schultz of Athens; grandson and wife, Ben and Holly Schultz of Watkinsville; sister, Jane Braswell; brother, George Thurmond, both of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1925 Century Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30345.
