Mary B. Pharr, 85, of Athens, GA, died peacefully on September 1, 2016.
She was born in Forsythe County, educated in Gwinnett County schools, and graduated from Dacula High School. Upon graduation, she immediately went to work with GMAC in Atlanta.
In 1949, she was baptized at Ivy Creek Baptist Church. She remained true to her Baptist faith for the rest of her life.
She was married to Roger Howard Pharr in 1951. They had two children after moving to Oconee County.
Mrs. Pharr attended Athens Vocational School, where she studied Licensed Practical Nursing. After graduation, she worked briefly at St. Mary's Hospital before being employed by local oral surgeon, Dr. Stephen Fennell, for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Sandra Jeanne Pharr and older brother, Charles M. Bruce.
She is survived by her son, Roger Howard Pharr, Jr., her younger brother, Herbert H. Bruce, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
