Mary Frances Meekins

Mary Frances Meekins, age 85, passed away on December 09, 2012 at her residence.
Born in Clermont, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Bradberry Mundy and Myrtie Brown Mundy of Richmond, VA. A graduate of Berry College, she worked as a Home Economist for Virginia Power & Electric,
a school teacher, and helped with family businesses in Virginia Beach, VA. & Anderson, SC. She was married to the late Albert Wolfe Meekins for 55 years, before his death in 2008. The couple retired to Cleveland, GA.
Following his death, she moved to Watkinsville, Ga. where she enjoyed living with her daughter, Al Jean Williams, son-in-law, Paul R. Williams, Jr. and grandson, Seth P. Williams.
Mrs. Meekins is also survived by her sister-in-law, Arleine Mundy, nieces Joyce Mundy and Lois Mundy Todd, nephews Paul Mundy and Frank Curran, all of Richmond, VA and Warren Mundy, in Florida, along
with their spouses, children and grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her brother-in-law, Philip Hunt, nephews Jeff Hunt and Gary Hunt all of Cleveland, GA and niece, Cheryl Hunt-Eskew of Atlanta, GA,
along with their spouses, children and grandchildren. On her husband's side of the family, she is survived by her nephews, Richard Gurkin, in Wilson, NC, and Pete Meekins, Jr., along with his wife, Caddy Meekins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Grover Mundy, and sister, Annie Curran, both of Richmond, VA and sister, Eloise Hunt of Cleveland, GA.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at the Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors, Watkinsville, GA. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012, 12:00PM in the Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors, with Pastor Jonathan Evans officiating, followed by a graveside service at the Concord Baptist Church, in Clermont, GA, where she is a member.
