Mary McCannon

April 28, 1945 — February 10, 2012

Colbert, GA - Mary L. McCannon, 66, died February 10, 2012.
Born in Lagrange, IN, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Nelia Lawson Collins. Mrs. McCannon was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Annabelle Grace Jordan, brothers, Bob Collins and Raymond Collins and sisters, Ruby Holcomb and Shirley Duckworth.
Mrs. McCannon was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and coworker. She was a longtime member of Colbert Baptist Church. Meme's faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave her strength and grace during her nine month battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her family, church family and coworkers.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Colbert Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Colbert Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, Rufus "Mac" McCannon; children, Debbie (Marc) Hale of Hull and Allen (Renee) McCannon of Danielsville; brothers, Donald (Phyliss) Collins of Stroh, IN and Lennie (Vanietta) Collins of Carlton; sisters, Judy (Jimmy) Childs of Hull and Jackie (Steve) Kennedy of Knox, IN; grandchildren, Kasey (Adam) Jordan, Kaitlyn Hale, Andrew McCannon and Gavin McCannon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mary McCannon Scholarship, PO Box 37, Danielsville, GA 30633 or the Colbert Baptist Church Bus Fund or Building Fund.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville is in charge of arrangements.
