Mary Garnell Maxey

Mary Garnell Maxey, 90, of Athens, GA passed away March 31, 2023 in Augusta, GA.  She was the daughter of the late Otha and Levie Osborne.  She was preceded in death by husbands James Hampton Palmer and Cecil D. Maxey, as well as by her sister Mildred Anderson and brother Dwayne Osborne, and her beloved dachshund companion, Maggie.

The family will have visitation at Lord and Stephens Eastside Funeral Home Wednesday, April 5th from 11:00am-12:30pm followed by a private graveside service for family to be officiated by Reverend Anthony Watts.

Survivors include daughter Alisa Palmer Capes (Gary) of Evans, GA; grandchildren Jason Capes of Dallas, GA and Jamie Capes Richardson (Andrew) of Savannah, and great grandchildren Bennett and Baker Richardson.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
