Mary Lou Stewart

Mary Booth Stewart, age 97, of Winterville Ga entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday March 7th 2025 at her residence. Mrs. Stewart was born in Ila, Ga to the late Robert and Fannie Jordan Booth. She was a member of Winterville United Methodist Church and part of the UMW and cooked for the Wednesday night suppers. She was previously active in the church and loved her church and church family. She was also a member of the Winterville Lions Club and Winterville Birthday Club. She retired from General Times after 30 years and helped start Countryside Catering of Winterville Ga where she worked for over 20 years. Mary enjoyed cooking for neighbors, family, and friends over the years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stewart is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Newton Stewart Jr, her sister Dorothy Mealor, brother Bobby Booth. Mrs. Stewart is survived by her daughters Marjorie Kay Warren (Jerry) of Winterville; Jeri Lynn Edwards (Ronnie) of Winterville and a brother, Billy Booth of Nicholson; Her grandchildren Michelle Edwards; Megan Bates (Ian) and great-grandchildren Rilynn Green and Ryder Bates expected to arrive in April and many cherished nieces and nephews. Mary’s family would like to express special thanks to St. Mary’s Hospice especially the compassionate care provided by Lori, Becky, and Melissa. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 12 from 6-8 PM at Lord & Stephens East. The funeral service will be on Thursday, March 13 at 1:00 at the chapel of Lord & Stephens East.
