Mary (Clay) Lill

Mary Clay Lill, 80 of Bostwick, GA and wife of 57 years to the late Johnnie Hershel Lill, Jr., died on January 4, 2023.

Born in Lawrenceville, GA she was the daughter of the late Eddie Clay and Eva Butler Clay and sister to the late Roger Clay and Diane Ashby. Mary and her husband Johnnie were the founders of The Tax Shelter where they worked side by side for many years. She and Johnnie enjoyed traveling the world together, spending time with family and most of all she spoiled her grandchildren every chance she had. She loved the Lord was a longtime member of Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters in law: John and Lori Lill and Ken and Georgianna Lill; siblings: Richard and Judy Clay, Dennis and Marjorie Clay, Gloria and David McDaniel, Ruth and Vicky Lowery; brother-in-law: Billy Ashby; grandchildren: Jonathan (Bethany) Lill, Joshua (Jessica) Lill, Jordan (Kayla) Lill, Jared (JD) Lill, Jacob Lill, Jeremiah Lill, Whitaker Lill and Mary Claire Lill and one great granddaughter, Jane Austyn Lill.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 3PM at Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church, Bostwick, GA, with interment following at Bostwick Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 5PM until 7PM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel, Watkinsville, GA.
