Mary Lee Tiller

Mary Lee Tiller, 92, died November 13, 2023.

A native of Oglethorpe County, Mary was a daughter of the late Clarence L. and Mamie T. Carter. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sherwood Spratlin of Hull, GA, who was killed in action in 1951 during the Korean War, as well as her second husband, James H. Tiller, and her siblings, Dorothy Williams and Auburn Carter.

Mary was an active, longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She retired from Certainteed Corporation and then worked part-time at Watkinsville First Christian Church for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and tour groups. She was a loving mother and family oriented.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Green Acres Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Survivors include two children, Mike (Kay) Tiller of Watkinsville and Terry (Tammy) Tiller of Athens; grandchildren, Michael (Jama) Tiller, Joy (Carlton) Westbrook, Doug Tiller, Morgan (DJ) Bennett and Ansley (Joshua) Christopher; great grandchildren, Griffin Tiller, Zoe Tiller, Amelia Westbrook, Sarah Westbrook, Hallie Bennett, Carter Bennett and Annistyn Christopher; a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Green Acres Baptist Church or St. Jude Foundation.
