Mary Katherine Smith, 80, wife of the late Harold Tony Smith, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
Born in Jefferson, GA, Katherine lived most of her life in Oglethorpe County. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Willie Motes and Viola Brooks Motes. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Apostolic Church and had worked for Chicopee Mills and Jefferson Mills.
Survivors include her daughters, Sara A. Smith of Crawford, Mary Felicia Drake and her husband David H. Drake, Jr. of Colbert, sisters, Cornelia Bridges of Colbert, Peggy Boggus of Jefferson, grandchildren, Yovanda Davis, Tony Drake and Gloria Hicks, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 3PM at Lord & Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow at Edwards Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Lord & Stephens Oglethorpe is in charge of arrangements.
