Mary Helen Duncan, 85, passed away October 16, 2014.
Born in Franklin County, Helen was the daughter of the late Ottis B. and Mattie Lee Phillips Cromer and was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Rich. She made her home in Athens since 1955 and was retired from Custom Styles. Mrs. Duncan was a member of Grove Chapel Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a special friend to many.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Raymond W. Duncan; daughters, Brenda Laskey of Marietta and Sibyl Ginn (Michael) of Athens; son, Dale Duncan (Kimberly) of Athens; grandchildren, McCall Grosso (D.J.), Berkley Ginn, Megan Laskey, Philip Laskey, Lindsey Duncan, Mary Claire Duncan, Sarah Kate Duncan, Allen Ginn (Shanda) and Julee Ginn; great grandchildren, Rocco Grosso, Makena Ginn, Kaleb Ginn and Rylee Ginn.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Revs. Jason Phillips and Herman Nation officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grove Chapel Youth Ministry 13 Grove Chapel Church Road Winterville, GA 30683.
