Comer - Mary Deirdre Duncan died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at her home in Comer, Georgia.
Deirdre was born and raised in Chamblee Georgia. After graduating from St. Pius X High School, she attended the University of Georgia. Deirdre graduated ìCum Laudeî with a degree in Agriculture. She was employed by the University of Georgiaís Horticulture Department, where she was involved in research.
Deirdre is the daughter of William P. Duncan and Catherine D. Duncan of Chamblee GA. She is survived by her mother, Catherine D. Duncan, Bud and Lisa Duncan of Memphis TN, Bob and Peggy Duncan of Tyrone GA, Paul Duncan of Chamblee GA., and Marty and Sharon Duncan of Huntsville AL. She has one cousin, Karen Anderson, of Albany NY, and has nine nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial mass for Deirdre this Saturday at 9:30 a.m., December 17, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 134 Prince Avenue, Athens, GA. The family will have a reception in Deirdreís honor, at her farm, starting at 1:00 p.m.
Deirdreís wishes to be cremated are being handled by Lord & Stephens Funeral Home in Athens, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Deirdreís honor to either: St. Maryís Hospice Services, P.O. Box 6588, Athens, GA 30604, or to Critter ñ Animal Adoption, Rescue, and Care, P.O. Box 64, Comer, GA 30629.
