Mary (Scalia) Davis

Mary Scalia Davis, 101, wife of the late Robert Marvin Davis, Sr., died on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Born in Enfield, CT, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Scalia. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Charles, Anthony, Joseph, and Frank Scalia and one sister, Anna Doody.

Mary retired from Hamilton Standard in Connecticut and was a longtime member of Briarwood Baptist Church. She was a past member of the Athens Garden Club, past Grand Officer of the Connecticut Easter Star, past member of the Athens Women’s Club and in retirement she loved to travel.

Survivors include her son; Robert (Caroline) Davis, sister, Josephine Waite, grandchildren, Deborah (Matthew) Miller, Valerie Davis, Kimberly (William) Young and Robby Davis and two great grandsons, Nathan, and Joseph Miller.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 1PM at Briarwood Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Standard officiating. Burial will follow at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Briarwood Baptist Church.
