Mary Carolyn (Crum) Cundiff

June 1, 1949 — February 10, 2024

Bogart

Mary Carolyn Crum Cundiff left this world on February 10th, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Bernice Crum. Carolyn was born in Albany Georgia on June, 1 1949. She was a 1967 graduate of Albany High School where she was the editor of the Thronateeska yearbook and enjoyed occasionally cruising down Slappey Drive in her yellow Comet (after she learned how to shift gears of course). She was also a member of the Anchor Club and Key Club Sweetheart her Senior year. Carolyn graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University in 1971 where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Michael Owen Cundiff, Sr., daughter, Kelly Rainey (JD), son Ryan Kearney, stepdaughter Jill Humphrey, stepson Michael Owen Cundiff, Jr.(Melissa) and seven grandchildren who affectionately called her CC.

Carolyn was a traditional Southern woman who believed in family first, thank you notes, never leaving the house without lipstick and blush on, returning Tupperwave in a timely fashion, hot home cooked meals served on time, and making sure her guests were comfortable. She loved holidays (especially Christmas), dancing to oldies music (and singing, but she would joke that she couldn’t carry a tune in a handbasket). She had a passion for fishing, pansies, key lime pie, the beach, crab legs, fried shrimp, going to the movies and redoing things “the right way”.

She devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and friends and wouldn’t have had it any other way. They all appreciate her selfless sacrifices, helpful tips and various life lessons over the years. Including: how to make a bed properly (the first time), Christmas tree decorating 101 (yes, there is a “correct” way to decorate a tree ), acceptable attire for any event, incorporating pastels into your wardrobe, and letting you know if something is considered “tacky”.

She had a smile that lit up every room, and a way of making everyone feel special. She had a generous nature, and loved to help others. You never left her home empty handed, whether it was leftovers (in Tupperware that you better return!), clothes that, “might look cute on you”, or any of the items she would buy in bulk from Sams Club and then give away.

We love you, Sweet Caroline! You will be in our hearts always.
