Mary Jeanette Crawford (age 99) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and most recently of Athens, Georgia went to be with the Lord February 22, 2013 after a short illness. Jeanette was born on December 28, 1913 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Mina and Jess Henson. She married the love of her life Guy Crawford on February 22, 1934. Their marriage of seventy years brought honor to the Lord Jesus and was an inspiration to all that had the privilege of knowing them.
Jeanette loved her faith in Christ, her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren all of whom truly blessed her life. A woman with many honorable attributes, she was primarily known for her compassion and concern for others. Throughout her life she ministered to the needs of her family and friends with love, gentleness, and compassion. She served faithfully as an active member of The First Church of the Nazarene of Little Rock, Arkansas and Immanuel Baptist Church also of Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Guy Crawford, her sister Vera Myers, her brother Charles Henson, and her sister Vida Glover. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn Bell and her husband Richard Bell (Athens, GA), her son Ron Crawford and his wife Karen Crawford (Warner Robins, GA), her six grandchildren: Michelle Arneson, Meredith McMillan, Murry Bell, Melinda Cope, Ryan Crawford, Russell Crawford, and her ten great grandchildren.
The Memorial Service will be held at Lord and Stephens WEST on Tuesday February 26, 2013. The family will receive visitors at 5:30 pm with a memorial service immediately following the visitation at 6:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made in honor of Jeanette Crawford to Compassion World Outreach, PO box 6506 Athens, GA 30604 or Kupendwa Ministries 5671 Hog Mountain Rd., Watkinsville, GA 30677.
