Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Chandler

Hull, GA - Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Chandler, 86, died August 15, 2012.
A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late George Nelson and Fannie Stevenson Stovall and the widow of William "Bill" Lewis Chandler.
Mrs. Chandler was a charter member of St. James United Methodist Church in Athens and was employed with Snow Tire Company for several years before moving to Madison County. She was co-founder of Ila Restaurant and a member of Ila Baptist Church. Mrs. Chandler was a former president and treasurer of WMU, secretary of Joy Sunday School Class, and a choir member.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville with Revs. Tim Peek and Thomas Dial officiating. Interment will be in Ila Cemetery.
Survivors include two children, Deborah Elaine Lackey and William Wesley Chandler; two sisters, Alberta Wofford and Anne Epps; brother, Nelson Stovall, all of Ila; four grandchildren, Shana Hoopaugh, Lee Lackey, Jason Chandler and Joshua Chandler; five great grandchildren, Mack Lackey, Shea Allison, Katlyn Lackey, Aurelia Elizabeth Chandler and Brock Elliott Chandler.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Ila Baptist Church Building Fund or Ila Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund at PO Box 245, Ila, GA 30647.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
