Comer, GA - Mary Birchmore Burousas, 83, 205 Georgia Ave., Comer, died on Monday, August 23, 2010.
Born in Anderson, SC and longtime resident of Comer, she was a daughter of the late John and Eula Vaughan Birchmore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander N. Burousas. She was a member of Comer United Methodist Church where she served as Choir Director and Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and a former co-owner of Empire Telephone Company in Comer.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and David Legg of Comer; grandson, Travis and Jill Legg of Comer; granddaughter, Noelle and Matthew Jones of Comer; seven great grandchildren whom she loved so dearly.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Comer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. P. Alice Rogers and Rev. Hugh Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in the Comer Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 25 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
