Ila - Mary C. Brooks, age 84, went home to be with her Lord on August 4, 2009.
A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Ed and Jewell Whitworth Chandler and was preceded in death by a brother, W. L. Chandler. She was Plant Manager for Georgia Sportswear of Ila for many years and was a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 7, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, with Rev. J. Michael Spence officiating. Interment will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Guy E. Brooks; daughter, Ann (John) Cass; son, Don (Jan) Brooks, all of Danielsville; three sisters, Lorene Moseman, Jean Edwards and Maudene McCannon; three brothers, E. Jack Chandler, Jerry Chandler and Bobby Chandler; five grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Terry Chandler, Rodney Chandler, Wesley Chandler, Josh Chandler, Patrick Chandler and David Echols.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 238, Hull, GA 30646.
