Marvinette Barker Callahan

Marvinette Barker Callahan, 74, died on Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Athens, GA. Born in Independence, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Homer Barker and Mary Mitchell Barker Davis and was also preceded in death by five brothers: Ray, Bobby, Billy, Homer and Larry Barker. Ms. Callahan retired as an office manager for an area psychiatric practice and had previously worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company and Athens Regional. She was a longtime member of Springfield Baptist Church, Athens. Survivors include her daughters: Shakira L. (Jenee Dickson) Callahan of Seattle, WA and Talissa Callahan of Athens, GA; granddaughter: Gracen R. Callahan-Dickson; longtime partner: Joe Pattman; godson: Zaylen Jones and a host of several nieces, nephews and cousin. There will not be a memorial service.
