Marvin Byrd Waters

Marvin Byrd Waters passed away September 3, 2015.
A native of Oconee County, he was a son of the late Lon and Beatrice Wright Waters and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Thaxton Waters. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Waters, Richard Waters and Clarence Brown.
Mr. Waters was a devout Christian and a lifelong member of the Pentecostal faith. He was a clerk, Sunday School teacher, worship leader, a visionary and loving husband and father. He was a Charter member of Heritage Fellowship Church and served the church as deacon and clerk. He was a successful business owner of Clean Home Vacuums for over forty years.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST with Revs. Robert Sheppard, Tim Vaughn and Howard Conine officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Kimberly) Waters and Tony (Marga) Waters; two grandchildren, Alex and Katie Waters; two "adopted" daughters, Ann (Keith) Holmes and Kellie (Ken) McIntyre.
The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
