Marvin E. Shannon

Marvin Ernest Shannon, 75, died September 17, 2014 at his home in Danielsville.
He was born to Cecil and Elizabeth Shannon on July 15, 1939. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carolyn D. Shannon. Mr. Shannon served in the United States Coast Guard and was employed with Athens Clarke County Fire Department (Station 1). He was a Deputy with the Oconee County Sheriff's Department and owner of Marvin's Locksmith. He also worked numerous other jobs and was a member of Colbert First Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be Friday, September 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathi Shannon Ashley (Danny); son, Mark Shannon; stepsons, Johnny Heard, Dan Heard, Greg Heard (Sheila), Gary Heard (Christy); sister, Martha Shannon Smith (J.C); brothers, Paul Shannon (Pat), Terry Shannon (Tammy); numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; very special friend, Nancy Page.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
