Marvin Edward ""Pete"" Gearing

Marvin Edward "Pete" Gearing, 71, of Winterville, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017.
Born in Athens, he was the son of the late Mart Gearing and Lois Butler Gearing. Mr. Gearing was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed landscaping and being close to nature. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Roy Edward Gearing, Willie "Buster" Gearing, Martha Sue Bennett and Janie Lee Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Nell Chapman Gearing; two children, Mark Edward Gearing and Lisa Gearing Summers; two siblings, Charles Mark Gearing and Patricia Sue Hunter and one grandson, Brantley.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
