Martha R. Shedd

Martha Faye Rogers Shedd, 82, died on Wednesday, January 6, 2020 at the Abundant Living Personal Care home in Comer, Georgia.  Martha, wife of Hubert Glenn Shedd (d. 2005), was the daughter of Florine and Berma Odell Rogers of Oglethorpe County.  A graduate of Oglethorpe County High School, she lived most of her life near Arnoldsville on Double Bridges Road, where she owned and operated a hair salon.  She was a longtime active member of Cherokee Corner United Methodist Church, teaching children’s Sunday School and playing piano for services.  Of generous spirit and with a terrific sense of humor, she was a fan of a good bridge game with her many girlfriends, the daily crossword, gardening, bird-watching, biscuit making, and children of all ages.  Mrs. Shedd is survived by her sons Glenn Clinton (Calli), Hubert Clayton (Anton) and several nieces and nephews.
