Martha Duncan McCannon, 88, wife of the late Kermit McCannon, died Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Athens Heritage Nursing Home.
Born in Comer, she was the daughter of the late Ira O. and Bessie Mae Brown Duncan.
She was a member of Comer First Baptist Church, Eliza Graham Sunday School Class and the Madison County Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. McCannon was also preceded in death by her sister, Nina Duncan Brown, and brothers, James "Jimmy" Alexander Duncan, Weldon Duncan and Ira O. Duncan, Jr.
Survivors include her children; Lane McCannon of Comer, Dennis Randall McCannon of Conyers and Phyllis McCannon of Athens, four grandchildren and seven great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel with Rev. Billy Meeks and Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ronald Swann, Dennis Thomas, David Thomas, Butch Russell, Emerald Duncan and L.M. Booth. Burial will be held at Ila Cemetery.
Lord & Stephens, Danielsville is in charge of arrangements.
