Martha Jo Ann (Pullen) Marbert

Martha Jo Ann Marbert, 88, wife of the late Jesse Carroll Marbert, passed on Friday, March 4, 2022 with her daughters by her side. Born in Fairplay, SC, she was the daughter of the late John McSwain Pullen and Effie Bloodworth Pullen and sister to the late Florence L. Carter, Mary Kate Garrett and Robert McSwain Pullen. Jo Ann retired from the Morgan County Health Department after 20 years of service as the director. After retirement, she continued her love of caring for, mentoring, and encouraging others. She treasured her family and her grandchildren who were the light of her life. Jo Ann was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church in Watkinsville. She longed for the day that she would meet her Savior, Jesus, and be reunited with loved ones. Survivors include her two daughters: Jacqueline “Kim” (John) Haynes and Emma Kate (Dennis) Pritchett; grandchildren: Johnny (Michelle) Haynes, Mary Joanna Haynes and Andrew Pritchett and two great grandchildren: Riley Haynes and Thomas Haynes.  Private graveside service will be held with Dr. Rick Standard officiating. A celebration of life service will be announced and held at a later date.
