Martha Jo Lowe

Martha Jo Lowe (MJ) of Statesboro, Ga died peacefully at Eagle Health Center on January 25, 2017.


Born in Washington, Georgia on January 5, 1943, Ms. Lowe was the daughter of the late Joe and Hilda Stokely Lowe of Crawford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. James Milton Albright.


Ms. Lowe attended Oglethorpe County High School, Emory at Oxford, and received both a Bachelor of Science in Math and Master of Education from the University of Georgia. She taught math for many years at colleges including Virginia Tech, University of Georgia and Georgia Southern. She was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Statesboro.


Ms. Lowe enjoyed world travel and was known as the queen of sweepstakes winning several trips. She had a passion for bicycle riding, participating in BRAG when she was able. She also enjoyed reading, telling family stories, and cooking which she was famous for her caramel cake.


She is survived by her three children; Naomi (Andrew) Albright Siwko. Elihu Feustel, Jabez Feustel; her brother, Edd (Edie) Lowe and sister in-law Judy Artman. 7 grandchildren: Noah, Mary-Grace, Lucy, Isabella, John Siwko, Sydney and Sage Feustel , nieces Sara Mack Lowe, Kimberly Artman, many cousins and friends.


In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Crawford Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, P.O. Box 305, Crawford, GA 30630. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 4, 2017 @ Noon at Lord and Stephens, East. The family will receive visitors one hour before the service. A reception will follow at the home of Edd and Edie Lowe, Athens, Georgia.
