Martha Wood Holladay

Martha Wood Holladay, 90, of Winterville, died March 1, 2021.

A native of Oconee County, GA, Mrs. Holladay was born August 8, 1930 to Hugh Edgar and Agnes Thrasher Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John H. Holladay and four brothers, Shannon Wood, Preston Wood, Hinton “Blue” Wood and Andrew Wood.

Mrs. Holladay was a lifelong resident of Clarke County and lived most of her life in Winterville. Following high school, she attended a local business college and was employed by Dixie Canner Company. She became a homemaker and focused on being a mother. She was of the Christian faith and centered her life around that faith, her family and friends.

A private funeral service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. The service will be streamed live via Lord and Stephens Facebook page and also on conference call 1-770-741-1800. Interment will follow in Winterville Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, William Ted (Susan) Holladay of Winterville; two grandsons, Austin John Holladay of Deerfield Beach, FL and Lyle Holladay of Winterville; numerous extended family members.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The family requests that all of those who attend wear a mask.
