Comer - Martha Oleda Harper, 84, wife of the late Thomas D. Harper, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 3PM at Lord & Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Chuck Tatum and Rev. B.G. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Glade United Methodist Church.
Born in Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late William David Tiller and Laura Mae Smith Campbell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Bridgett Rae Fortson and sister, Jurene Stewart. She was a member of Crawford Pentecostal Holiness Church and had most recently attended Mt. Pleasant Meeting House. She retired from Overhead Door after 15 years.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law: Marsha and Dennis Thomas of Comer; grandchildren and their spouses: Norma and David Dyer of Winder, David and April Thomas of Comer; great grandchildren: Jackson Dyer, Leah Thomas, Maggie Dyer, Anna Thomas and Cassie Thomas; two nieces: Malcolm Carter and Janelle Mathews.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 9, 2009 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
