Martha Nell Hardman, age 80, of Arnoldsville, died Friday, May 22, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 24, 2009 at 2PM at Sandy Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Graham, Robert Johnson, Thomas Wheless, Allen Stevens, Seth Robinson and Josh Robinson.
A native of Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Toombs Stevens and Mary Ellen Mathews Stevens. She was an active member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church, Sandy Cross Woman's Club where she served many years as treasurer, and Sandy Cross Sunshine Club. She was a member of the American Legion Post 123 Auxiliary for over 50 years and served as treasurer for many of those years. Most importantly, she was a loving, dedicated and faithful wife, Mama and Mama Nell.
Survivors include her husband, Guy Hardman; three children: Keith (Colleen) Hardman of Powder Springs, Susan (Lanny) Robinson of Winterville, Joyce (Danny) Sniff of Arnoldsville; seven grandchildren: Brittany (Brian) Ponder, Seth Robinson, Josh Robinson, Ashley (Jamie) Sims, Erin Escoe, Rylee Sniff, Sydney Sniff; one great grandchild: Caitlyn Hardman; two sisters: Bertha Johnson and Sarah "Dolly" Ellis; two sisters-in-law: Helen Stevens and Katherine Stevens.
Visitation will be held tonight, Saturday, May 23, 2009 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
