Mrs. Martha Thaxton Colquitt of Lexington/Winterville passed away Saturday, January 25, 2013.
Mrs. Colquitt was born in Lexington to the late Rollin and Loudell Mathews Thaxton SR. on March 15, 1928. She was a lifetime member of Lexington Baptist Church and was retired from Farmer's Home Administration.
Mrs. Colquitt was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Lloyd B. Colquitt and brother Samuel C. Thaxton. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Becky C. and Donald Chandler of Winterville; brother and sister-in-law Rollin and Mary Thaxton as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Lexington Baptist Church on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 10 until 11 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM at Lexington Baptist Church with Revs Rod Walls and Harry Warren officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Thaxton, Patrick Thaxton, Scott Thaxton, Sam Waldron, Steve Waldron, and Andrew Gaines.
Private burial will be held at Clarke Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to either Lexington Baptist Church Cemetery fund c/o P.O. Box 302 or to the Madison/Oglethorpe Animal Shelter c/o 1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd. Danielsville, GA 30633.
