Martha Jane Brobst

Martha Jane Brobst, 88, of Athens, GA, met her precious Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Marti was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Harry and Julia Ann Clemens. Marti was the beloved wife of Lawrence D. Brobst for 48 years until his passing in 2006.

Before her health declined, Marti was a devoted member of St. James United Methodist Church in Athens, where she participated in serving the Lord through various ministries both within the church and community. Marti loved learning about the Word of God and was a voracious reader and studier of scripture. She loved the Lord deeply and was known for her kind, sweet and joyful nature, as well as her generous spirit. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, her family was always her top priority. 

Marti is survived by her children and their spouses: Judy and Mark Childs of Athens, and Larry and Lisa Brobst of Wilmington, NC. She is also survived by three grandchildren and their spouses: Christa and Allan Wiltshire, Josh and Hannah Childs, and Kaitlyn and Anthony Dinoto, along with three great-grandchildren: Hallie Wiltshire, Everleigh Wiltshire, and Maddie Childs.

A private celebration of life ceremony will be held. The family requests that memorials be made to your ministry of choice. Marti loved to support children's homes and orphanages. Love one another well! John 3:16-17
