Madison - Martha Sue Bennett, 75, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Lois Butler Gearing. She retired from Reliance Electric and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Janie Lee Brown; brothers: Roy Gearing and Willie Lee "Buster" Gearing.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 9, 2010 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Moon's Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Carrie Towe of Athens; sister: Patricia Hunter; brother: Charles Gearing and Pete "Marvin" Gearing; grandchildren: Ashley Lynn Towe and Terry Robert Lee Towe.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the funeral home.
