Marjorie Boyd Hutchinson

June 15, 1919 — November 1, 2014

Mrs. Marjorie Boyd Hutchinson, 95, of Statham, GA passed from this life into Heaven on November 1, 2014.
She was born on June 15, 1919 in Clarkston, Georgia to Willie Byrd Boyd and Pearl Carlyle Boyd and was the oldest and last survivor of five children; Willie Byrd Boyd, Jr.; Jamie Boyd; Jackie Lewis Boyd and Martha Jean Boyd-Goins all of Winder, Georgia. She was also preceded in death by her husband LtCol Manning Earl Hutchinson and her only son, Anthony (Tony) Eugene Hutchinson. She was raised on a farm in Barrow County and graduated from Statham High School. Later, in 1943, she met & married the love of her life, Manning Earl Hutchinson, a World War II U. S. Army veteran from Newberry, SC. Prior to moving to Statham, Mrs. Hutchinson lived in El Paso, Texas for 35 years. She was a member of Grace Fellowship in Bogart, GA. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia & Duke Dufresne, Statham, GA, & Melanie & Fernando Najera, El Paso, Texas. Her daughter-in-law is Patricia Hutchinson of Astor, Florida. She has 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, Brian K. Dufresne & wife Sandy of Winder, GA, Shawn Collard & wife CiCi of San Antonio, Texas and Kristina Najera Henderson & husband Michael of Hendersonville, NC and seven great-grandchildren; Haydn & Carina Collard; Jacob, Madeline & Colton Dufresne; Lilliana & Nathaniel Henderson including several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a devoted wife and mother to her children and grandchildren whom she always gave unselfishly and showered them with lots of love and wise counsel. Her smile and sense of humor will always be remembered and her sweet memory will be treasured in our hearts forever.
A celebration of her life will be held at Grace Fellowship, 1120 Malcom Bridge Rd., Bogart, GA. Date and time to be announced later. Pastor Tony Vismor will officiate.
The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Grace Fellowship. The family would also like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Gentiva Hospice, Park Place Nursing Facility and Mulberry Grove Senior Living, friends and extended family.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home West, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Rd., Bogart, GA is in charge of the arrangements. Her remains will be interred with her husband at Ft. Bliss Army National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.
